Payson, UT (July 26, 2021) – The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS team visited the Pacific Northwest as Washougal MX Park in Washougal, WA was the stage for round 7 of the 2021 Pro Motocross Outdoor Championship. Debuting the new 2022 Fly Racing gear, Joey Savatgy continues his solid string of top 10 overall finishes while Justin Bogle kept the pace for 14th overall
Joey Savatgy’s first moto had him staring outside the top ten but quickly proceeded to move forward. He found himself battling for 10th place, making the move around the 10 minute mark. He continued to charge as he closed in on the position in front of him, taking the checkered flag in 10th place. Moto two had Joey once again on the outside looking in as he rounded the first lap in 13th. The Alpinestars MX supported rider put on a charge forward and fought his way to 10th place early in the moto. He then caught Ken Roczen and made the pass to take over 9th place. He continued to charge and come to within a second of the next rider, crossing the finish in 9th place to earn 10th overall for the day.
“Today I rode well. While my starts weren’t there, I was able to charge through the field. The consistency is helping us, and We’ll continue to progress. I’m looking to re-focus and work on a few things during the break and come back ready to fight at Unadilla. ”– Joey Savatgy
Justin Bogle had a solid start to the day, as he put in a fast lap that gave him the 7th fastest time in overall qualifying. At the start of moto one he found himself out of the top ten and would slot in 13th at the end of lap one. He found himself fighting for position throughout the race, and as he hit his marks he crossed the finish line in 16th. Justin had his work cut out for him in moto two, as he found himself at the tail end of the top twenty. The Sweet Life CBD supported rider picked up the pace as he pushed forward through the field and at the checkered flag crossed the finish line in 13th place to earn 14th overall for the day.
“It was a tough day. The day started good, as I had one of my best qualifying times in a while, it just didn’t translate to the motos. We still have some work to do though we are moving forward. I’m Looking forward to the break, do some testing and make a few changes to the bike before we come back at Unadilla ready to charge.-Justin Bogle
The team now takes a two week break before the next round at Unadilla MX in New Berlin, NY for round eight of the 2021 Pro Motocross Outdoor Championship.
