Savatgy 9th, Bogle 14th at Spring Creek MX | Race Report

Team RMATVMC 2021

Payson, UT (July 19, 2021) –   The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS team headed to the land of a thousand lakes as Spring Creek MX in Millville, MN played host to round 6 of the 2021 Pro Motocross Championship. At the halfway point in the season, Joey Savatgy racked up another top-10 overall finish while Justin Bogle showed speed to a 14th overall.

Joey Savatgy got caught up in a first turn pileup at the start of Moto 1. He quickly picked himself up, but the damage was done as he returned to the race outside of the top 30. The Palmetto Motorsports backed rider put on a fierce charge through the pack to finish just outside of the top 10 by the end of the race. Joey got off the line without issue in Moto 2, rounding the first turn inside the top 3. He kept the power to the ground as he found himself in a battle inside the top 5 for the first half of the race. The Fly Racing supported rider kept the charge and crossed the finish line in 7th place, ending the day 9th overall.

“Today felt good. My speed was there all day, just unfortunate crash in the first turn in moto 1 didn’t help me. Things are headed in the right direction and looking forward to another top ten ride at Washougal next week.”    –

Justin Bogle launched out of the gate in Moto 1, powering around the first turn in the top 5.  He soon found himself under attack, however, and having to defend his position early in the race. He continued to battle inside the top 10 for the rest of the moto and the Seat Concepts supported rider took the checkered flag in 13th place.  In Moto 2, Justin timed the gate perfectly as he used his FMF exhaust to power through the first turn, just missing the holeshot. He had an amazing run early in the race, holding onto 3rd place for the first half of the moto. Then, Justin made a few mistakes that shuffled him back into the field. He recovered the pace by the end to cross the finish line in 14th place and earn 14th overall for the day.

“I felt my speed was there all day. I had two great starts that allowed me run with the front pack. This is motivation for me and we are moving in the right direction. I am looking forward to Washougal next weekend.
