Payson, UT (Sept.21, 2020) – Coming off of the only off-weekend of the season, Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS headed to Spring Creek MX in Millville, MN for round six of the 2020 Pro Motocross National Series. Blake Baggett put on a charge as he raced to a 2nd overall, while Justin Bogle gained momentum with a 13th overall.
Blake Baggett looked poised to have another stellar race early on as he laid down the 4th fastest lap of the day in morning practice. A perfectly timed gate in Moto 1 allowed Blake to round the first turn in 4th place. From there, he put in some of the fastest laps of the race as he went to work moving forward. He used his Galfer brakes to out-brake Chase Sexton at the bottom of Mt. Martin to take over 3rd. Blake then closed the gap between him and Marvin Musquin in 2nd place and, for several laps, both swapped lines while using the full width of the track. After relentless pressure and forcing a mistake from Musquin, Blake powered his way into 2nd place. With the win in sight, Blake put on a late-race charge to capture leader Adam Cianciarulo, but just narrowly missed out on the lead. The second moto picked up where the first one left off as Blake narrowly missed the holeshot and slotted into 2nd, chasing the leader Adam Cianciarulo once again. After sliding back a few spots, he picked up the pace and found himself in a three-way battle with Chase Sexton and Adam Cianciarulo for the lead. Once he made his way past Sexton, the Gear Off-Road supported rider cut the gap between him and the leader before running out of time, crossing the finish line in 2nd. That finish was enough for Blake to take 2nd overall for the day.
“Today was awesome. I had the speed all weekend and I could put my bike anywhere I wanted to. I was giving it everything I got out there and I know I still have it in me to win. We will take this momentum into WW Ranch next weekend ready to be on the top spot.”Blake Baggett
Justin Bogle felt the flow of the Spring Creek track as he rounded the first turn in Moto 1 just outside the top 10. He kept the pace and found himself battling for position. He continued hitting his marks and took the checkered flag in 16th place. Moto 2 had Justin starting inside the top 10. He ran the pace early in the race before sliding back a few spots. The Motorex supported rider raced well and battled his way to the finish line to take the checkered flag in 12th , earning 13th overall for the day.
“I’m getting stronger every weekend. I felt loose out there and flowing around the track today. I’m for sure making strides and they are showing in my results. We keep moving forward, progress and fight for a top ten finish next weekend at WW Ranch.”Justin Bogle
