Payson, UT (May 3, 2021) –   As the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross season came to a close, Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS took the 17th and final gate drop of the season inside Rice-Eccles Stadium.  Joey Savatgy stayed on the gas and earned his eighth top-10 finish of the season.

Joey Savatgy brought the speed into 450 Heat 1 as he set his sights forward through his FMF Vision goggles and pushed through a mid-pack start. Joey quickly moved his KTM 450 SX-F inside the top 10 and found himself in a three-way battle for 5th place. After making the move with a minute to go, the Gear Off-Road supported rider closed the gap on the rider in front of him to cross the finish in 5th place. Joey put the power down in the main event, slotting into 6th place at the green flag. From there, he found himself battling for position throughout the race, sliding back to the tail end of the top 10 by the halfway point. As the track started to deteriorate, the Fly Racing backed rider kicked it up a gear and started moving forward, passing Arron Plessinger and then put the move on Ken Roczen a lap later for 6th place. After putting pressure on 5th, Joey took the checkered flag in 6th place and secured 10th place in the final overall championship points standings.

“It was a good night and I am happy with my ride. My speed was there and as the main went on I felt stronger. It feels good to end the Supercross season with a solid ride and I am looking forward to bringing that momentum into the Outdoor season.” –

The team will now take a three-week break to switch gears and prepare for the 2021 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship season opener in Pala, CA.
