Payson, UT (June 4, 2020) – Making history in the first ever Wednesday night Supercross, Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS entered Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, UT for round 12 of the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross series.
Blake Baggett came into the afternoon practice hot, finding the fast lines around the track to earn the top 450 qualifier position. He would prove to have a challenging night however, as an early crash in his heat race forced him to charge up through the field taking 7th place and a spot in the main event. Blake would not have the main he wanted, as he would get shuffled to the back of the field after dodging a downed rider at the start. He kept his composure as the Galfer supported rider worked his way to 14th place at the checkered flag.
“It was a tough night. My speed was there today, I just had some issues on track that didn’t do me any favors. We will regroup and come back strong this Sunday.”Blake Baggett
Benny Bloss looked strong in his heat race, as a good start allowed him to battle inside the top five and taking the checkered flag in 4th to transfer to the main event.A mid-pack start in the main event had Benny working his way through the field. The Gear Alloy supported rider charged to a 13th place finish at the checkered flag.
The team now prepares for Sunday’s daytime race at Rice-Eccles stadium and round 13 of the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross Series
