Savatgy earns 9th, Bogle 15th at RedBud MX | Race Report

Payson, UT (July 6, 2021) –   The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS team celebrated the July 4th weekend with round four of the 2021 Pro Motocross Outdoor Championship at its celebratory stop at RedBud MX in Buchanan, MI. It was another solid day for the team as Joey Savatgy continued to complete top-10 rides as he earned a 9th overall for the day. Justin Bogle also showed some speed to take 15th overall.

Joey Savatgy started Moto 1 inside the top ten, hitting the big drop in 6th place. While trying to pass a group of riders on the big triple step-up, Joey would rail the clean outside line but unfortunately would wash the front end. After remounting in 23rd, the ASV supported rider didn’t waste any time as he pushed forward to just outside the top ten by the halfway point of the race. He continued to hit his marks and fought his way into the top 10 to take 10th place at the checkered flag. Joey rounded the first lap of Moto 2 outside of the top 10 and quickly started moving through the field. The ODI supported rider pushed to just outside of the top 10 by the halfway point of the race and then made the pass for 10th place where he would take the checkered flag and earn 9th overall for the day.

“Today was solid. My speed was there even though I didn’t have the starts I needed. Still managed to overcome my starts and earn two top ten finishes. We’ll continue to build this momentum and ready to battle at Southwick next weekend.”

Justin Bogle would get a good launch out of the gate in moto one and rounded the first lap just outside top ten. He continued to charge forward and found himself battling for position knocking on the door of 10th place before going down. After remounting, Justin dug down and fought his way back up to 14th at the checkered flag. Justin launched out of the gate in moto two and rounded the first turn deep inside the top ten. He battled within the top ten for most of the race until dropping back to 14th at the finish, earning 15th overall for the day.

“Today was ok. My speed was there both motos, just had a few on track issues that kept me from finishing in the top ten. We leave here healthy and are still moving in the right direction. We’ll make a few changes and be ready to tackle the sand at Southwick!
