Payson, UT (Feb.14, 2021) – Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS traveled to the sunshine state as round 7 of the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross headed to Camping World Stadium for the first of two races in Orlando, FL.
Joey Savatgy came out firing in 450 heat race one, as his Dunlop tires dug for traction down the start straight allowing him the track position after the first turn in 4th place. After holding off an attack from behind, he would put in his fastest laps at the closing stage of the race and closed the gap to third before taking the checkered flag in 4th. In the main, Joey rounded the first turn and slotted into 6th place early and through his FMF Vision goggles set his sights forward. He had the pace early, opening a gap between the riders behind him before going down at the end of the short rhythm section. After remounting, from the tail end of the pack, he would put on a charge and work his way forward to finish in 13th.
“It was a tough night. I had the speed to battle for a top five position, it’s just unfortunate I went down. The positives are my starts were good tonight, and I felt my riding was the best it’s been this season. The main thing is I leave here healthy. We are progressing in the right direction, so we will regroup and come back ready for Orlando 2”Joey Savatgy
Justin Bogle rounded the first turn deep inside the top ten in 450 heat 1. The JStar Auto Group supported rider would find himself in a battle for position the whole race, defending his position to take 9th at the finish. Justin would get pushed wide on the first turn of the main event and work his way to just outside the top ten early on. After having issues on track and going down, he would finish in 18th.
The team stays in Orlando, FL for round 8 of the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross Series this coming Saturday Night.
