Savatgy 7th, Bogle 8th at Ironman MX | Race Report

Team RMATVMC 2021

Payson, UT (Aug.30, 2021) –   The heat was on as the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS team headed to Ironman MX for round 10 of the 2021 Pro Motocross Championship.  With only three rounds left, Team riders Joey Savatgy and Justin Bogle didn’t let the heat affect them as they both put on a charge to finish in the top ten.

Joey Savatgy nailed the start of the first moto, as his Dunlop tires dug deep in the Indiana soil leading the field into turn one to grab the holeshot. He didn’t let up as he controlled the lead for the first lap and a half before he found himself under attack for the lead. He soon found himself battling for positions inside the top five for over half the race before taking the checkered flag in 7th place. Joey would get a good drive off the gate in moto 2, as the Imagesource Inc. supported rider started inside the top ten. Keeping pace in the heat, he charged to 8th place at the finish to earn 7th overall for the day.

“It was a good day. My pace was there all day and I was stoked to get that holeshot in the first moto. We are leaving here with positives and we have things moving in the right direction for the last two rounds of the season. I’m ready to continue this at Pala next weekend.”

Joey Savatgy

Justin Bogle would start deep inside the top twenty in moto one and by the halfway point had put on a charge working his way into the top ten. By the time the checkered flag came out, Justin had solid control of the 10th place spot.  A better start for the Palmetto Motorsports backed rider had Justin stating from inside the top ten this time around. With his sights set forward, he pushed his way to 7th by the checkered flag, earning 8th overall for the day.

“Today was a solid day. This track suited me today and had fun out there. While I didn’t get the best starts, I was able ride my way forward. I’m ready to continue this momentum into the last two rounds and finish the season strong.”

-Justin Bogle

The team now travel to Pala, CA, the second time this season for round eleven and the second to last round of the 2021 Pro Motocross Outdoor Championship at Pala MX.
