Payson, UT (June 6,2021) – The backdrop of the Rocky Mountains played host as round two of the 2021 Pro Motocross outdoor championship stopped at Thunder Valley MX Park in Lakewood, CO. Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS riders would have a solid day, with Justin Bogle putting in a strong ride for an 11 overall while Joey Savatgy worked his way to a 12th overall for the day.
Justin Bogle started the first moto at the tail end of the top twenty. He didn’t stay back there, as he quickly started to move through the field. The Motorex supported rider found the lines around the track as he sliced his way to 15th by the halfway point. After moving up a few more spots, Justin finished the moto in 14th spot. Moto two Bogle would start in 15th and proceeded to work his way forward early moving into 12th by the mid-way point of the race. After moving into 11th, Justin would close to within a second of 10th place. The Engine Ice supported rider kept his cool as he held on to take the checkered flag in 11th. His 14-11 score earned Justin 11th overall.
“Today is a step in the right direction. I rode hard as I moved forward after midpack starts. We figured some things out with the bike and it helped here at Thunder Valley. Looking to the week off to head back to Florida and dial in the bike even more so we can continue this forward progression at High Point!”Justn Bogle
Joey Savatgy let the Dunlop tires dig for traction up the start hill and rounded the first lap just outside the top ten in 12th. Joey kept the charge as he battled with fellow KTM rider Marvin Musquin for over ¾ of the race. Joey kept the charge and on the last lap passed Eli Tomac to take the checkered flag in 10th place. A good launch out of the gate in moto 2 allowed Savatgy to round the first turn in the top five and before the end of the first lap would make a move into 4th place. After a two lap battle for 5th place, Joey would go down due to an unfortunate rear brake issue that materialized early in the race. After remounting, Joey kept the charge to cross the finish in 15th. His 10-15 score earned Joey 12th overall for the day.
“My speed was there today just made a few mistakes that kept me from a solid finish. We are headed in in the right direction and leave here on a positive note. We’ll take the break to regroup and come back ready for High Point in two weeks.”Joey Savatgy
The team takes a week off before heading to High Point MX in Mt.Morris, PA for round 3 of the 2021 Pro Motocross Outdoor Championship Series on June 19th.
