Payson, UT (Apr. 19 2021) – Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS hit the track at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, GA for round 15 of the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross series. Team rider Joey Savatgy battled tough for an 11th place finish on the night.
Joey Savatgy launched out of the gate of his heat race using the explosive power of his FMF exhaust to round the first turn in 2nd place. He kept the pace despite coming under attack, fighting for position throughout the race to earn 6th place at the checkered flag and advance to the main event. The Acerbis supported rider got another good jump out of the gate in the main but came out mid-pack after the first turn. Working his way forward, he ran inside the top-10 early in the race. After a brief battle that sent him a few positions back, the Seat Concepts backed rider pushed his way to just outside the top 10, earning 11th for the night.
“I rode well tonight, though my result doesn’t reflect that. I had the speed all night, I just didn’t get the jump off the gate in the main to help me. We are still progressing forward in the right direction and I am looking to Salt Lake City to finish the last two rounds and the series off strong.” –Joey Savatgy
The team loads up and now travels across the country to Salt Lake City, UT for the last two rounds, 16 and 17, of the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross Series.
