Payson, UT (Mar.15, 2021) – It was a solid night for Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS at round 10 of the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross series at AT&T stadium in Arlington, TX. Both riders put in a solid race, and Joey Savatgy raced to 7th place in the main event.
Joey Savatgy timed the gate perfectly in 450 heat 2, leading the field into the first turn and just narrowly missing the holeshot. He didn’t waste any time as he jumped his way over Aaron Plessinger for the lead in the second rhythm section. The FMF Vision supported rider commanded the race early on before slotting into 2nd place. He kept the throttle wide open, holding off the competition behind him to take the checkered flag in 2nd, earning a solid gate pick for the main event. Joey let his Dunlop tires dig for traction in the main event and was rewarded with a top-10 start. He found himself battling his way forward inside the top 10. His speed was noticeable and, at one point, he was the third-fastest rider on the track. After holding off defending champ Eli Tomac, the Engine Ice supported rider kept his cool as crossed the finish in 7th place. This marks his best finish of the season thus far.
“I am very happy with my ride tonight. The starts were crucial and I executed them in both the heat and the main. I am progressing forward and things are turning around. We’ll get ready and come back ready for Arlington 2 on Tuesday.” –Joey Savatgy
Justin Bogle got stacked up in the first turn of 450 heat 1 and started just outside qualifying position. He moved his way into the top 9 by mid race, and managed to make a pass in the final laps to cross the finish line in 8th place. Justin has his work cut out for him in the main as he started deep outside of the top 15 after being pushed wide at the start. The Alpinestars supported rider made his way forward as he found himself knocking on the top 10by mid race. Hitting his marks, Justin took the checkered flag in 12th place.
“I rode well tonight, though my result doesn’t show it. I didn’t get the start I needed, as I had the speed and pace to run in the top ten. We will regroup and come out ready for Tuesday night’s race here in Arlington. ”Justin Bogle
The team quickly prepares for the second race in Arlington, round 11 of the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross Series inside AT&T Stadium.
